What is the SG Arrival Card?

The Singapore Arrival Card, also called the SG Arrival Card or SGAC, is an online arrival declaration submitted before entering Singapore. For foreign visitors, it combines arrival information with an electronic health declaration. It replaced the former paper disembarkation and embarkation card.

It is not a visa. If your passport requires a visa for Singapore, the SG Arrival Card does not replace that requirement. Completing the declaration also does not guarantee entry: immigration officers decide whether to admit a traveller at the checkpoint.

Who needs to submit the SG Arrival Card?

In general, travellers who will enter Singapore and seek immigration clearance must submit the SG Arrival Card before arrival. This includes foreign visitors and, in many cases, Singapore citizens, permanent residents and Long-Term Pass holders.

There are important exceptions:

  • Travellers transiting or transferring through Singapore without seeking immigration clearance do not need to submit it.
  • Singapore citizens, permanent residents and Long-Term Pass holders entering through the Woodlands or Tuas land checkpoints are exempt.

Foreign visitors entering through a land checkpoint are still required to submit the declaration. The requirement therefore depends on whether you will clear immigration, your traveller status and your mode of arrivalโ€”not simply on nationality.

When should you submit the SG Arrival Card?

Submit the SG Arrival Card within three calendar days, including your day of arrival. This is a calendar-date window, not a fixed 72-hour period.

For example, if you arrive on 20 July, you can submit your declaration from 18 July onwards. If you try to submit too early, wait until the permitted window opens rather than submitting information for the wrong travel date.

Use the date you expect to arrive in Singapore when calculating the submission window, and review the declaration again if your travel plans or health status changes before departure.

What information should you prepare?

Prepare your travel document and your itinerary before starting. The exact questions can vary by traveller category, but the official service requests the information needed for your arrival declaration and electronic health declaration.

  • Personal information: details identifying the traveller.
  • Passport or travel document details: use the document you will present for immigration clearance.
  • Contact information: provide an email address you can access, as the acknowledgement is sent to the address declared.
  • Arrival and travel details: your expected arrival date and relevant journey information.
  • Stay details: foreign visitors should be ready to provide the relevant details of their stay in Singapore, where requested.
  • Electronic health declaration: complete the health questions truthfully and update them if your health status changes before arrival.

The service separates submissions for Singapore citizens, permanent residents and Long-Term Pass holders from submissions for foreign visitors. Foreign visitors and In-Principle Approval letter holders submit arrival information and a health declaration; residents submit the applicable health declaration.

How to fill out the SG Arrival Card

You can submit the Singapore Arrival Card through ICA's official SG Arrival Card e-Service or the MyICA mobile app. The process is designed for submission before travel.

  1. Open the official SG Arrival Card service or MyICA app.
  2. Select the traveller category that matches your status: resident or foreign visitor.
  3. Enter your personal and travel document details exactly as they appear on the document you will use for entry.
  4. Add your arrival, journey and stay information where the service requests it.
  5. Complete the electronic health declaration accurately.
  6. Review every entry, especially names, document numbers, arrival date and email address.
  7. Submit the declaration within the allowed window.
  8. Keep the submission acknowledgement sent to your declared email address. A web submission may also provide a PDF record.

Do not confuse the acknowledgement with permission to enter. At immigration, follow the clearance instructions and be ready to present the travel document linked to your declaration if requested.

Can you submit an SG Arrival Card for a family?

Individual submission is available. ICA also provides Group Submission for people travelling to Singapore together for one trip.

A group submission should only be used where every person in the group is travelling on the same trip. Do not assume that one traveller's acknowledgement automatically covers other family members: each traveller's information and declaration must be included correctly. This matters for children as well, because the arrival process applies to travellers individually.

What happens after you submit the form?

After a successful submission, ICA sends an acknowledgement to the email address entered in the declaration. Check that the email address, traveller details and arrival date are correct, and retain the acknowledgement for your records.

For foreign visitors, the SG Arrival Card acknowledgement is distinct from the immigration pass issued after admission. If a Short-Term Visit Pass is granted, the e-Pass notification records the period of stay and the last day allowed in Singapore. It is not the same document as the SG Arrival Card acknowledgement.

How to correct mistakes or changes

Check your declaration before submitting it, as a passport-number error, wrong arrival date or incorrect contact email can create avoidable problems. ICA confirms that travellers whose health status changes after submission should update their health declaration through the official โ€œUpdate SGACโ€ feature.

For other changes, such as a changed flight, travel information or an error in passport details, do not assume that every field can be edited freely after submission. Return to the official SG Arrival Card service to see whether an update is available for your declaration and follow the instructions shown there. If the service does not provide a suitable update option, seek guidance through ICA's official channels before travel.

If you cannot find the acknowledgement email, first check the email address entered, your spam or junk folder, and any saved PDF from a web submission. A missing acknowledgement should not be treated as proof that the declaration was successfully submitted.

Practical checks before departure

  • Submit only once your arrival date falls within the three-calendar-day submission window.
  • Use the same passport or travel document details that you plan to use at immigration.
  • Make sure every traveller in a family or group has been included correctly.
  • Update the health declaration if your health status changes before arrival.
  • Keep access to the acknowledgement email while travelling.

The official SG Arrival Card submission is free of charge. Independent assistance may be available if you would prefer help understanding the requested information or checking details before transmission, but it is optional and does not replace ICA's decision at the border.

When a personalised check is useful

The SG Arrival Card requirement is separate from Singapore visa requirements and other entry conditions. If you are unsure whether you will clear immigration during transit, which traveller category applies to you, or whether another entry formality may apply to your passport and itinerary, check the requirements for your specific journey before departure.
